UK Announces Ban on Petrol and Diesel Cars!!!

A ban on the sale of petrol and diesel passenger car from 2030 has been announced in the UK by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The UK government will be spending huge amounts of capital in the transition towards electrification of vehicles. It also aims to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles by making an investment of more than £2.8 billion (Rs. 27,523 crores) to promote the adoption of electric vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR),has already      announced that they will be offering electrified options for all its new products and Hope’s to complete the transition to electric and hybrid vehicles before 2030.Similarly, Bentley too has come up with its own plan of becoming an EV brand come 2030 under its Beyond100 strategy.
The Indian government has not set any timeline as of now, but is expected to come up with some long-term plan that will push petrol and diesel powered cars towards extinction. While the deadline seems too early, Norway beats the UK on that front, for it has set a 2025 deadline post which no new petrol or diesel cars will be sold there.

UK joins Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands in implementing the 2030 deadline for banning petrol and diesel-powered vehicles, while France aims to do the same by 2040.

However,It will be a very difficult task for automobile manufacturers to make change. Although, the battery operated vehicle are simple but are 45% expensive then fuel burning vehicles .Electric cars do not have gears or clutches and thus no noise of the engine and the ride is very quiet.

Hope we can breathe pure air  by 2035.
